Hold onto your hairspray cans because we're about to take you on a whirlwind journey through the glitz, glam, and good vibes of this year's 2024 GLAAD Awards! Buckle up for a behind-the-scenes peek into the dazzling world of hairdressing and high-profile events.

We dont even know where to begin! For those who don't know, we had the absolute pleasure of attending this years 35th annual GLAAD awards supporting in the green room backstage! We absolutely loved being present at the most legendary LGBTQ celebration of the year - Honouring those in the media who have shown exemplary achievements for fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect lives.

First things first…

Let’s set the scene: picture this - two tireless hair mavens, Jasmin and Linh, wrapping up a full day of hair magic and jetting off to LA faster than you can say "curling iron."

Destination? The City of Angels of course! Armed with enthusiasm and an arsenal of swag bags, they dove headfirst into the excitement of the experience. On the day of the awards, they met Nona to kickstart at the crack of dawn! The day of the awards was a whirlwind of activity. From the penthouse to the red carpet, our trio found themselves rubbing elbows (and smoothing strands) with the likes of the Real Housewives and the Bling Empire crew. Talk about a star-studded soirée!

Together, they were quickly rushed to the penthouse where Linh began doing Sarah Kate Elis's hair - the president of GLAAD herself! As if hobnobbing with Hollywood's finest wasn't thrilling enough, the ladies found themselves in the thick of it all, lending their expertise (and steamers) to those in need - Cue the hair flips and camera flashes!

An experience of a lifetime!

In between touch-ups and tress transformations, our intrepid stylists found themselves in some seriously swanky surroundings.

The swag bags were laid out in the greenroom, ready to be swept up by everyone who came through. Of course, our main goal was to remain professional and respectful to the celebrities and their teams that were present, at all times. We were graced by the presence of known faces like Kate Hudson and Sharon Stone while they casually chatted over touch-ups (it's true, celebrities are just like us). We even helped hand over the Oasis steamer to Sydney Sweeney's publicist, because everyone needs to be wrinkle free!

Linh was assisting in touch-ups for everyone that came through, while Nona aided in fully styling Sarah Kate Ellis herself! Being in a room with legends, offering our expertise and support was truly a dream come true. The team is so grateful to have a connection like this to be able to take part in such a special experience.

But it wasn't all work and no play! Between styling sessions, Jasmin and Linh managed to squeeze in some well-deserved R&R at the iconic Hotel Roosevelt and indulged in culinary delights at the oh-so-chic Bavel Restaurant. Late-night meals never tasted so good, and the girls made sure to take part in such delicious meals.

Let’s reflect …

Reflecting on the whirlwind of emotions and experiences, Jasmine, Linh and Nona couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to be a part of such a special event. From nerves to excitement, anticipation to adrenaline, they soaked up every moment like a perfectly coiffed sponge.

So there you have it, folks - a glimpse into the fabulous world of hairdressing and high-profile events. From red carpets to styling suites, it's safe to say that it was a highlight in their careers. The team cannot wait to support next year (you read that correctly, we will be back!). Of course through every experience, lessons were learned to help us next time around - but we are so proud of how the team handled this amazing event!
